About me

Hello! I’m Gilbert Liu, a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Game Art at the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts. My time at USC University’s Game Design program taught me the delicate art of creating well-balanced gameplay systems, while my years of 3D modeling experience allows me to craft visually striking worlds that players want to explore.

I am proficient in industry-standard tools such as ZBrush, Maya, and Unreal Engine, and I continuously strive to enhance my skills in game development and environmental design. In my spare time, I enjoy tabletop games, cooking, and traveling, always seeking inspiration from the world around me.

My journey in 3D design began in middle school, where I developed a keen interest in the intersection of creativity and technology. Furthering my education at Chapman University in Animation and Visual Effects has allowed me to hone my skills even more.

During my time at Sage Hill High School, I focused on designing 3D prosthetics, creating functional and aesthetically pleasing art. This experience not only enhanced my technical abilities but also taught me the importance of effective communication with clients to meet their needs.

Currently, I work as a 3D Generalist at USC, where I’m involved in an advanced game project, responsible for designing 3D models and dressing game levels. Recently, I contributed to a senior thesis short film and initiated personal projects that showcase my ability to seamlessly integrate 3D animation into various media formats.
